Georgia and Portugal played out a thrilling 18-18 draw in their first-ever Rugby World Cup match on Saturday, with Portugal missing a penalty in the dying seconds that would have secured a famous victory.

Portugal came out fighting in the second half and were soon back in the game when Vasco Milho crossed for a try that Marques converted. Portugal continued to press and were rewarded with another try from Afonso Costa, which Marques converted to level the scores.
With time running out, Portugal had a chance to win the match with a penalty kick, but Marques' effort sailed wide of the posts and the match ended in a draw.
The draw was a fair result in a match that was closely contested throughout. Georgia will be disappointed not to have won, but they will be pleased with their performance, especially in the first half.
